Self-discipline is a muscle.
When we don’t use it mediocrity sets in.
That can lead to a life of regret.
Yuck.
Don’t worry, because you’re not going to let that happen!
It’s time to move from complacency into the realm of possibility or better yet…
PROBABILITY!
Which means increasing your odds of accomplishing your goals.
SELF-DISCIPLINE IS PART OF THE PROCESS
In some ways we can think of self-discipline as a kind of thought process, a method of thinking that prompts behavior that supports our vision.
TRUTH
Self-discipline comes easier to some of us than others, but have no fear! One thing’s for sure, if you don’t use it you won’t reap the benefits!
TRAIN TO BECOME MORE DISCIPLINED
Here are three uncommon methods to exercising your self-discipline muscle that offer immediate gratification! #goals
1. Gotta be cruel to be kind!
Go without that extra helping of your favorite dish! Say no to dessert! No checking your social media before bed! These little actions are a great way to exercise your self-discipline muscle every day.
2. Set a timer!
This works wonders for short-term accomplishments. For example, if you have been putting off writing an email that could very well lead to a meeting with a person that might be able to help you open a few doors, then sit at the computer and set a timer for 15 minutes. During that time, focus only on the email you’re writing. When it the timer goes off, take a 5-minute break, then set the timer again for another 15 minutes and continue to work on the email. You’ll feel great that you committed to this time and happy to see the results. TIP: Gradually increase the amount of time you focus from 15 minutes to 20 to 25 to 30…
3. Work out Challenge!
Next time you’re at the gym, instead of doing 10 reps, do 12. Instead of running a mile, run a mile and a half. Pushing yourself to do a bit more each time is one of the best ways to build self-discipline.
These solid tips will make it easier for you to act as if you are already where you want to be! Post a comment and share your experience with cultivating self-discipline!
Until next time.
All the best to you always.
