We have hundreds of life-changing ideas coming into our mind throughout the day.  How many do we actually take to heart and act upon?  Maybe one, but probably none.

How to Tell if Your Best Life & Best Self are a Match: Ask This Question

Mid year is a great time to check in and ask yourself “How’s it going?” “Am I making progress? “Have I been moving toward my goals or am I stuck in limbo-land?”

While these questions are important to ask, they don’t come close to the one question that will significantly influence whether or not you are in the best position to achieve the life you want. Continue reading

Creating Possibilities: The Power of Asking WHAT IF

Dustin Hoffman.

Tootsie.

Hoffman’s character in this 1982 Academy Award winning film, Michael Dorsey, would go to any lengths to get a part, even if it meant playing a tomato: “Nobody does vegetables like me!”

Take the first day of school butterflies or first day on the job jitters. No thanks! Emotional discomfort is that foreboding feeling of having to call a creditor to discuss a payment plan, or stage fright prior to giving a presentation. In a nutshell, it’s all the things we don’t want to do, but all the things that when we do them, bring us relief. Continue reading

Super Objective is our emotional life purpose.  It’s also an acting term that describes a character’s ultimate goal, desire or dream.  It’s  the reason behind why we make bold moves (or not); why we choose a particular lifestyle, or relationship or profession; why some of us will do anything to get ahead and why some of us won’t.  The legendary actor and teacher, Konstantin Stanislavsky, defined Super Objective as the spine of an actor’s performance. To his point, I would add it’s the emotional instinct we humans are always looking to achieve.

Why knowing your Super Objective matters.
